Biography of Viola Richard :
Born Viola Agnes Richard to James H. Batterbee and Viola M Casburgue she was another of the cute energetic foils for the Hal Roach pantheon of comic stars. She retired from the screen in 1928 and only made an occasional cameo appearance as a crowd extra. She died from smoke inhalation caused by a fire that broke out in her 1417 N. Sycamore Ave. home. Her Death Certificate reads that she was a 'Set Girl' and divorced.
